Wireless Optimization
Wireless optimization is a service that has become very popular because corporate wireless managers have recognized a need for corporations to have a wireless service that can analyze the details of a wireless bill and apply the optimization recommendations in a real time environment.
Every single cell phone bill is electronically loaded into a telecom software program and a complex algorithm uses real time data to create a wireless solution that can be submitted to the service provider, allowing for instant savings for the Enterprise.
One area that the wireless inventory management software can really help a business gain visibility into the budget is by drilling down into every single call and doing a wireless audit comparing the cost of the usage of that particular call to the corporate contracted rates.
Auditing the huge number of calls and data usage from PDA's cellphones, blackberries and Treo's that are critical in keeping your mobile work force plugged in can be tedious, wireless optimization is a tremendous way for a corporation to the stop the budget leak.
Another area that brings much relief to IT and accounting staffs is the ability of the wireless optimization software to process every wireless bill. By receiving a feed from the service provider the wireless software automatically loads it into the database, the wireless optimization starts immediately and when your wireless manager arrives at work in the morning a report is ready which shows the invoices that need to be processed that day. The report can be viewed on a web based dashboard and downloaded for distribution.
By exploring the different companies listed on our site your wireless manager will be able to determine which independent solution fits the criteria that has been established as being the basis for an eventual budgetary expense. The role of beam-forming in 11n
In a couple of newsletters this month, I've discussed the effects of multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) and antenna technology in 802.11n primarily from the perspective of a "traditional" vendor, if there is such a thing in the nascent 802.11n market. Much of that insight came from Cisco and, indeed, is applicable to many early 11n products on the market today. That's because most do not use beam-forming technology, also called "smart antenna" technology. Rather, they support static antennas - albeit in a dynamically changing environment.
